We thought Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, had gone blonder earlier this year, but that lighter-looking hair color was just an appetizer for the full event, which the Princess debuted on September 4.

Middleton and her husband, Prince William, checked out the gardens at the Natural History Museum in London, but I have a feeling no one was looking at the greenery. Instead, they were probably looking at Middleton's hair, which is now definitely, firmly, absolutely blonde—not bronde, not caramel brunette, but 100 percent blonde. Instead of her usual light brunette hair color, the Princess of Wales's hair has been transformed with a lush honey hue that feels light and bright but still warm and cozy for fall weather.

Look at that color! There's no denying that Middleton is the blondest she's been in, well, probably forever. Ripples of gold, honey, and amber color give her long hair dimension, with a slightly lighter wheat blonde near her roots. It honestly glows, and we hope it sticks around awhile! We did predict that creamy, dimensional blonde shades would be big this fall, so it looks like we're right on track.

The color wasn't the only new addition to the Princess's look, either. Not only was her hair a brand-new shade, it was also more voluminous than normal, with tons of body and lift at the root through her mid-lengths. Middleton typically wears her hair in perfectly blown-out waves, so seeing her with this much “oomph” factor is a lot of fun. The lengths were styled with a little extra curl than usual to add to the overall effect. Hey, September does signal the change of seasons, and while most people yearn to go a bit darker after summer, the Princess of Wales is flipping the script and blonding things up.
